Chan, Albert, Ph.D.

Bio

Albert Chan is counseling psychologist and a marriage and family therapist for over 27 years, living and working in Toronto, Canada for over 25 years. Professionally, he has been trained as a marriage and family therapist, clinical and counseling psychologist and is a Clinical Member and an Approved supervisor of America Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He is a social worker by profession and is registered with the College of Social Work in Ontario, Canada. He is a past Board member of Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the past Clinical Director of Living Water Counseling Services, a Chinese counseling centre and a member of National Organization for Victim Assistance, Albert is a consultant providing consultation to Employee Assistance Program companies, private corporations, churches, community social services, rehabilitation centers, schools and colleges in Hong Kong and Canada. The consultation that he provides for these organizations includes clinical case work, staff development and training, critical incident debriefings cross cultural training, employment counseling and supervision.

Currently, he is a visiting scholar at Lingnan University teaching psychology subjects.   He was an adjunct faculty for Baptist, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Bethel, Lutheran seminary, Macau Inter-University Institute, Olivet Nazarene University (HK Campus), Alliant Internal University, Beijing Normal University, Hong Kong University and taught at Humber and Seneca College.  

In Hong Kong and China, he has been providing trainings and consultations to Caritas, Swatch, Adidas, Chong Hing Bank, Hospital Authority, Board of Education, Royal Bank of Scotland, Prudential Insurance, Hong Kong Social Welfare Department, Against Child Abuse Society, St James Settlement, Chinese University Human Resources Department, Adventist Hospital, Volunteers Bureau of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Girl Guide, Hong Kong Police Department,  Council of Social Services, Sun Life Financial Hong Kong Ltd, Hospital Authority, Neo Health Centre and WellSpring EAP, Hong Kong Fire Department, The Prudential Assurance Co. Ltd.  Flame Agency, Nypal Co. Ltd., Eaton Co.
